RAFAEL LLORENS

I lost almost everything. The next morning, I got up.

The Iron Table is a room for men who are done pretending everything is fine. Accountability without shame. A high standard, and grace when you miss it.

RAF'S STORY

From signing the checks to figuring out where to sleep

I built construction businesses from the ground up. Crews, relationships, and something I believed would take care of my family and everyone counting on me. Then it fell apart. Financial pressure, mounting debt, and decisions that landed on my shoulders. I lost the trucks, the business, and eventually a stable place to live.

Losing the business wasn't the hardest part. Losing the stability that let me be the father and the man I wanted to be was. The next morning I got up. I trained, ran my routine, and worked on what I could control. I'm not rebuilding the old life. I'm building something better on a stronger foundation.

This is my message to myself today, and I hope it helps somebody.

On what keeps you going

What I wish I knew five years ago

You can carry it all. Doesn't mean you should.
I confused responsibility with absorbing every problem for everyone.
Harder work doesn't fix everything.
You need boundaries and systems, and to see when loyalty turns into self-destruction.
Money and stability are different things.
You can be making it and still be one bad month from losing what matters.
You are not what you produce.
When the paycheck disappears, you better have something left worth believing in.

Who sits at this table

Successful, starting over, overweight, divorced, struggling, or looking like you have it all figured out. None of that matters. What matters is whether you're willing to do the work.

  • Men who are done pretending everything is fine
  • Men who will own their mistakes without drowning in shame
  • Men rebuilding a business, a marriage, a body, or all three
  • Dads learning to co-parent without losing themselves
  • Men who want a standard, a routine, and other men to answer to
